I have had the "Plaid Maker" stamp set for quite some time, & had never inked it up. I decided this challenge was the perfect opportunity to stamp my own buffalo plaid pattern with it. I also used the leftover joy word die cut from another card.
I positioned the lined & solid square stamps in my MISTI. I used Bubble Gum ink on the squares, double-stamping each, and used Ballet Slippers for the lined stamp. The stamps have 2 squares on each stamp, so stamping the first 4 columns was not too hard. I had one more column to stamp with the lined stamp, so I moved it to a new position on my MISTI. I inked it up, and just as the stamp hit the cardstock, I realized I had it wrong. The lines went in the opposite direction! But the ink was on the paper, so it was too late. I wasn't about to start over, though. Fortunately, I found a "Rounded Rectangle" die that was small enough to cut off the offending squares and still large enough to fit my greeting. Crisis averted!
After I die cut my plaid panel, I glued my joy word in place. I matted the plaid piece with a dark green panel that I'd die cut with the next larger die, then adhered that to a mint panel that I'd mounted to a white card base.
